A Dream Of Iron 2014
Plot Synopsis
Multimedia artist Kelvin Park follows his 2010 debut Cheonggyecheon Medley: A Dream Of Iron with another mesmerizing meditation on the symbolic and symbiotic relationship between metal and South Korea's past and present. Backdropped by a magnificent symphony of classical, spiritual and industrial sounds, the documentary, which started out as a museum installation, traces from cave drawings of whales, the gods of early civilisation, to modernity's god in the machine. Park interposes archival footage with arresting imagery of heavy industry and men at work shot in the expanses of Hyundai's shipyard and POSCO's steel mills.
